1999 - NEW BOOK REVEALS THE SECRETS OF AVOIDING AND BEATING PARKING TICKETS

Last year in New York City over 9.1 million parking tickets were issued, totaling over $383 million - that equates to at least one ticket for every car registered in the New York metropolitan area. One reason New York City collected so much money in parking fines is that motorists just pay parking tickets without checking to see if the ticket was written accurately.

"What you dont know about parking your car in New York City can be a costly experience," explains Louis Camporeale, (a.k.a. the Parking Pal, parking columnist and lecturer), in his first Motorist Educational Book entitled the New York City Motorists Parking Survival Guide - A Primer on How to Avoid and Deal with Parking Tickets Effectively.
John Passidomo, former Commissioner, NYS Department of Motor Vehicles says "Camporeale's guide is well written, organized and will be helpful to anyone who drives a motor vehicle in New York City."
John Van Horn, Editor of Parking Today magazine says "Parking Pal makes it their business that people in the Big Apple know where its legal to park, know the laws and are prepared to fight and win when parking citations are issued."
Approximately 20-25% or 2 million parking tickets issued in New York City have some type of technical defect that could result in an automatic dismissal by a Parking Violations Bureau Administrative Law Judge, if pointed out in a motorists defense. "Theres a critical need for motorists to know this information and to learn effective methods of fighting back," says Camporeale. More often than not, motorists pay tickets outright, either because they dont know their parking rights or they feel its not worth the effort to fight."
The New York City Motorists Parking Survival Guide is the most up-to-date reference on little-known parking rules, parking ticket defenses and strategies on how motorists can avoid parking tickets and deal with tickets effectively.
All New Yorkers, whether they own, lease or even occasionally rent a car, will need this book to combat aggressive enforcement and unlawful tickets. This essential reference book will be an invaluable tool to motorists who park their car in New York City, giving them the confidence to park their vehicle safely without getting a ticket or having their car towed. However, in the event a summons is issued, Camporeale explains that instead of simply paying the fine, motorists should look at the ticket carefully to take advantage of possible errors which he outlines in the book.

In response to motorists needs for parking enlightenment, Camporeale established the Parking Pal Motorist Education Company in 1994. Since then, Parking Pal has become a motorists advocate throughout New York City, offering weekly parking columns, community seminars and newsletters.
The "Parking Pal" placards, developed by Camporeale, were selected among the "Top 500 Most Unique and Interesting Products in America" in 1997 by the National Mail Order Association. The award-winning "Parking Pals" are brightly colored, laminated placards with the parking laws printed right on them. Designed to be placed on a vehicles dashboard for visibility through the windshield, "Parking Pals" act as a defense mechanism by informing Traffic Enforcement Agents of the law and the motorists right to park before a summons is written.
The New York City Motorists Parking Survival Guide - A Primer on How to Avoid and Deal with Parking Tickets Effectively sells for $11.95, and is available online and at area bookstores.
